A Wireless Beam Sensor is a security device that uses an infrared beam between two or more units — typically a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends an IR beam to the receiver and if the beam is interrupted (for example, by a person walking through), the receiver detects the break and triggers an alarm or sends a signal wirelessly to an alarm/control panel. Because it’s wireless, there is no need for running cabling between the two ends, making installation easier in some scenarios (gates, fences, long corridors, perimeter protection). The housing is usually weather‑resistant so it can be used outdoors.
