A Wireless Beam Sensor is a security device that uses an infrared beam between two or more units — typically a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends an IR beam to the receiver and if the beam is interrupted (for example, by a person walking through), the receiver detects the break and triggers an alarm or sends a signal wirelessly to an alarm/control panel. Because it’s wireless, there is no need for running cabling between the two ends, making installation easier in some scenarios (gates, fences, long corridors, perimeter protection).
